Who is Adam Roman?

Professor of Computer Science, Jagiellonian University

Adam Roman – computer scientist, professor of computer science, research fellow at the Institute of Computer Science and Computational Mathematics at the Jagiellonian University (Poland), head of the Department of Software Engineering. He is an expert in software testing and software quality engineering. 
 
For over a decade, he has been a trainer and lecturer in subjects related to testing and quality assurance. At the Jagiellonian University, he lectures on ‘Software Testing’ and ‘Open Source Repositories and Software Metrics’, and leads a seminar dedicated to issues of software testing and quality. He is also a co-founder and director of the postgraduate studies “Software Testing” and “Business Analysis”. 
 
As a representative of the Jagiellonian University on the Polish Committee for Standardisation, he participates in the work of ISO/IEC Joint Technical Committee 1/SC 7/WG 6 and WG 26 on the ISO 29119 – Software Testing Standard. He is a co-author of the latest ISTQB syllabi: Foundation Level (4.0), Test Analyst (v4.0) and Technical Test Analyst (v4.0). Within the ISTQB, he is a member of the Foundation Level Working Group, Advanced Level WG, Expert Level WG and Glossary WG, where he contributes to maintaining the ISTQB Glossary of Testing Terms.

The presentation will cover the advanced black-box test techniques introduced in the new version of the ISTQB Test Analyst v4.0 syllabus. During the presentation, I will explain why these particular techniques were chosen, outline their advantages in the context of contemporary IT challenges (such as the development of AI), and demonstrate practical examples of their application.
