Who is Radosław Smilgin?

Radosław Smilgin is an independent consultant and trainer specializing in software testing, requirements engineering, and quality assurance. He is the creator and owner of testerzy.pl, Poland’s longest-running portal and blog for the testing community, established in 2006.

For the past twenty years, he has mentored successive generations of testers in Poland, dedicating his career to professional education and development. A former lecturer at Jagiellonian University and a current faculty member at Gdańsk University of Technology, Radosław has authored numerous publications, including the acclaimed books Zawód tester and Praktyka testowania. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences, as well as the originator and organizer of TestingCup – the Championship in Software Testing.

How do you train people with impaired vision for a certification that wasn’t built for them? It was one hell of a ride. From inaccessible syllabi to exam systems that ignore basic disability needs – every step was a battle.
 
This is my first public report after an intense “experiment”. I’m here to demonstrate exactly where the ISTQB fails the accessibility test and how we can rectify it. In today’s world, exclusion should be banned – particularly by organizations that preach quality but fail to provide it to the largest possible sample of users.
 
There is no “happily ever after” here yet, but there is a wealth of knowledge. I’ve prepared valuable materials to bridge the gap and improve the process for everyone.
