The TMAP body of knowledge for quality engineering and testing started with the book “Testing according to TMAP” (1995). So this year we celebrate 30 years of TMAP. In those 3 decades about 20 books were published. In this presentation Rik will give a brief overview of the history of TMAP and will elaborate on the impact that TMAP had on the world of Quality Engineering and Testing, and even on the Information Technology world in general. One example of impact is that currently there are TMAP certified people on 4 continents. An important impact of TMAP is that people in many different countries use the TMAP resources (such as the freely downloadable templates). Also TMAP has always been an important source of knowledge about test design techniques. Of course this celebration would not be complete without an outlook to the future… What will GenAI bring to the world of quality engineering & testing?
